My name is Carmen, and as you might guess I aspire to be an author. In the meantime, I’m a university student in Canada.
I’m eighteen years old; about to become a second-year arts student majoring in Cognitive Systems. At the end of this year I will apply to UBC’s Creative Writing program; it’s very exclusive, but if I get in I will continue to take a double major with CS.
I speak three languages (Spanish, English, and French) of which Spanish and English are my firsts. I was born in a town just outside of Boston, and therefore hold both American and Canadian citizenships.
Besides writing, I play the flute and the oboe; I’ve played the flute going on 9 years, and the oboe for 4. I prefer the oboe.
Some of my favourite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Jr, JRR Tolkein, and Michael Chabon (though I find his work to be hit-or-miss; I loved Gentlemen of the Road but hated The Yiddish Policeman’s Union).
All work is my own unless otherwise specified. Please do not repost.
